PHILOSOPHY & HONOR CODE
OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

We acknowledge that God is Creator and Father of us all, that He has sent His Son, Jesus, to “Bring all things into one in Him” (Eh. 1:10), and that Jesus commissioned His apostles and their successors, the Church, to “go, teach all nations…” (Mark 16:15).

“Catholic education is an expression of the mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church He founded. Through education, the Church seeks to prepare its members to proclaim the Good News and to translate this proclamation into action. Since the Christian vocation is a call to transform oneself and society with God’s help, the educational efforts of the Catholic School must encompass the twin purpose of personal sanctification and social reform in the light of Christian values.” (TO TEACH AS JESUS DID.)

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

To provide a program of Catholic religious education embracing instruction in doctrine, the practice of private prayer, community worship, attitudinal formation, and the example of Christian living.

To create activities and programs that foster a healthy self-image and an appreciation for the gifts of life.

To provide an atmosphere of love and caring to develop proper respect and a sense of responsibility toward all persons.

RELIGIOUS FOCUS

Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School exists primarily for the religious and moral formation of children of all denominations. The academic preparation of children through religion classes and liturgies are an important part of the school curriculum. The students actively participate in daily religion classes, monthly Eucharist adoration, and weekly liturgies adapted especially to the instruction of children. Students of all denominations, attend liturgical services scheduled during school hours and participate in daily religion classes scheduled for each grade.
